There’s a famous study involving a parole board in Israel which concluded that a prisoner who went before the board in the morning had a 65 per cent chance of being granted parole. Meanwhile a less fortunate prisoner whose case came up later in the day had only a 10 per cent chance of being granted parole, regardless of the severity of his or her crime.
