Every year since they were old enough to hold a crayon, my children have written a letter to Father Christmas, informing him (politely) as to what they might hope to find in their stocking on Christmas morning. I have gently reminded them to not just “ask” for things but to also enquire about how FC is getting on, whether or not the reindeer have had a good season, and how Mrs Claus copes with all the stress at this time of year. I have some wonderful photocopied versions of these buried away somewhere รข€“ the originals, of course, are somewhere in the North Pole, probably piled up in Santa’s office.
