If you follow restaurants even cursorily, you’ve no doubt heard about Amano, or at least glimpsed some of its good-looking attributes on social media channels. Its owners the Hip Group have given us some of Auckland’s best cafes – think laidback, on-point design in the burbs and the beaches, plus urban cool in Britomart – but Amano is by far their most ambitious, and impressive, opening to date.
