Isaac Giesen wants to be first Kiwi to row solo across Atlantic Ocean

A bid to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness of depression and suicide has been given a huge boost.

Isaac Giesen, 25, from the family-owned Giesen Wines in Marlborough, lost his aunt and two close friends to suicide. In their honour, he’s setting out to become the first New Zealander to complete the challenge.

A special fundraising dinner held at Arbour Restaurant in Marlborough last week, netted an impressive $30,000 towards his ultimate $1 million goal.
