Hydroponic strawberries have been available on supermarket shelves for sometime, but I wait patiently until the first of the sun-ripened berries arrive at the markets before I succumb to my first taste of the summer. It is well worth the wait, the flavour of sun-kissed fruit cannot be imitated.
