OPINION: If I told you getting cancer was like winning the lottery, would you believe me?

Being diagnosed with cancer has to be one of the most unfortunate misadventures a person can experience. Having the “c" word come into your life is like receiving your cause of death signed and sealed; your expiry date immediately brought forward.

Imagine, in addition, being diagnosed before the age of 25. Instantly, cancer isn’t just this horrible disease that impacts the middle-aged and old, or is caused by poor life choices and dirty habits.
