By “space invader” we’re not talking about the 1980s arcade phenomenon, but a person who continually invades another’s personal space, to the point of making them uncomfortable.
The reader who asked this question has a particular problem with a work colleague continually breathing down their neck, both figuratively and literally, but this kind of thing happens all over our daily lives.
Sometimes we encounter people who just stand too close to us. Other times we find people touching us without warning â not in a sexual or other inappropriate way, but rather on the arm or shoulder when they’re trying to convey a message or ask about us, or even just shaking our hand for a little too long.
