Restaurant review: Papa Satay

In this country, Malaysian restaurants generally try to cover the full multi-cultural spectrum, from Malay to Chinese to Indian. Owner-chef of Allen Street’s new Papa Satay restaurant, Krisnan Morthy, hails from Ipoh in the north of Malyaysia and makes roti both for his own needs and for other restaurants, including Little Penang, which is a recommendation in itself. And to be sure, the layers of fresh roti enclosing my chicken murtabak were as distinct as the leaves of mille feuille atop a French pastry.
