Don’t get me wrong, I spent Christmas as many others did – drinking beautiful bubbly, opening presents and eating far too much. I love the odd glass of wine – it is a fabulous and highly crafted pleasure.But at this time of year, I do reach a stage of getting a bit “over it”, and wondering how it is that drinking has become such a large part of so many cultures around the world.
