Parents always say they love their children equally, but a new study shows strong favouritism lies just under the surface.
The study reported in the Journal of Consumer Psychology reveals that when it comes to spending money, mothers favour daughters over sons, and fathers favour sons over daughters.
This was even though 90 per cent of the people taking part in the study said they treated their children equally.
