It is a rare occurrence in the arts, or for entertainments, to have a performance which doesn’t need eyes.

Oh, you may need them to enjoy Dr Mayall’s tie, but not his show. Audiences have become accustomed to employing only two of their senses, visual and auditory. Occasionally touch intrudes on the performance through the seats we use, or the presence of a bony neighbour, and perfumes and smells surround us, but taste, having something deliberately connected with the show in our mouths?

Never, Until tonight.

Mayall spoke for the event designed jointly by himself and his cullinarily-gifted colleague Alexander Williams. In an interview, Williams said of Hamilton It’s always got cool stuff going on involving cool people… and that is what makes the city unique.
