The address is Armagh St, but if you were telling anyone where it is you’d say Casa Publica is at the end of the New Regent St shops. It’s not one of the shops, sort of tacked on, a bit like a party guest no-one’s quite sure who invited.
Casa Publica skips the pretty Spanish Mission stylings of the rest of the street in favour of the big-green-block and moody interior movement. But its South American cuisine fits in well, so it’s a party guest who is trying.
Clearly Casa Publica is a sister operation to the Carlton Hotel. The design strongly suggests it but the Wings Wednesday promotion confirms it. At both outlets you can get 12 wings for $6 on Wednesday. We went on a Thursday.
