Restaurant Review: Wellington's Sterling Woodfire Eatery & Bar

If hotel restaurants often seem tiresome add-ons, it may be because the Basil Fawlty school of hoteliers feels irked at slothful, tardy house guests who demand a dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week, yet in reality don’t patronise the place much past breakfast. Traditionally hotel restaurants have played it safe, offering well-heeled guests technically accomplished twists on comfort food. But today’s hoteliers have developed an antidote to the blandness, whereby the entire hotel restaurant operation is farmed out to well-known names in the industry.
