It’s a warm January day punctuated by drizzly rain to cut the stickiness. Venetia and I are at a street-side table with cover that only just stops us getting wet. The muggy air is fragrant with the smell of fish sauce, chilli and garlic being tossed in woks close by and Venetia says that with the tropical weather and the food scents we could almost be in Asia.
