The Waikato is lucky to have quite a few good rural eateries tucked away in the folds of its green and beautiful heartland. Rhubarb Café in the village of Arapuni, west of Putaruru, is one such place. It's located in a quaint refurbished butcher shop, and it has the Arapuni hydroelectric power station and dam almost on its doorstep, as well as the excellent Waikato River Trails that draw many visitors to the area.
