A decent lunch is a truly happy affair and can set you up for the rest of the day. And as British author Aldous Huxley once opined, a man (I’m sure he also meant a woman) may be a pessimistic determinist before lunch and an optimistic believer in the will’s freedom after it. I’m with Huxley on this and, at the risk of sounding like Lady Lunchalot, it seems a number of memorable meals in the past year have been lunches where good food, company, service and surroundings have come together seamlessly.
