Wearing compression tights doesn’t help runners go faster or farther, a new study has revealed.
They might make you look better (depending on whether skin-tight works for your build) but you won’t reach the end of your run any differently than if you’d been wearing shorts.
Researchers from the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Centre found runners' muscles had the same tiredness whether tights were worn or not.
They tested athletes on 30 minute runs at 80 per cent pace on a special treadmill. One day they were wearing tights, on another day they weren’t.
